The Glasgow WTP improvements of constructed in 2019-2020 represent a sizeable investment for the City. The operator’s responsibility is to protect and monitor this investment by properly maintaining and operating the facility at the highest efficiency level practical
The operators must:
- Be thoroughly familiar with all treatment units and their efficiencies, know proper operational and monitoring procedures, and use this knowledge to operate the system effectively.
- Keep informed of current operating and maintenance practices through short courses, training, and periodicals related to municipal water treatment and in-house training sessions.
- Maintain accurate and complete operation and maintenance records.
- Assist in preparing an adequate budget and use sound judgment in spending funds.
- Be aware of safety hazards connected with water treatment plant operations.
- Maintain good public relations as a representative of the City when encountering plant visitors.
- Communicate with all City staff and Montana DEQ representatives. Keep supervisors advised of potential problems or possible areas of improvement in plant operation and maintenance.
