Operational duties at the Glasgow WTP will include a variety of tasks. Major tasks include plant management and administration, laboratory testing, operation of unit process, and maintenance of equipment. The new plant presents about the same operational complexity as the previous plant and the same number of operators are adequate to fully staff all required tasks. Therefore, no change in staffing requirements is recommended.
The superintendent and one of the operators are experienced with the operation of the previous water treatment plant and all have received training for the operation of the new facilities. They have a thorough understanding of the operational requirements of the Glasgow WTP. The third operator is replacing a recently vacated position and will be trained appropriately.
