Description
The Highland Booster Pump Station pumps water from the lower pressure zone of the City to the higher elevation northeast area, which includes the Highland Reservoir. The pumps supply the reservoir and upper pressure zone of the City, providing adequate system pressure at all times.
Three pumps equipped with variable frequency drives (VFDs) operate in a duty-standby configuration. Typically, only one pump operates at a time, but two pumps may be operated at times of high water demand or to catch up after extended periods of no pumping.
